Entry #6 Refresh your skin with a chemical peel

Chemical peels are one of the most requested skincare treatments and for good reason...Peels, as I refer to them, can give you a tight refreshed look to get you ready for a night on the town, or if you are looking for anti-aging, a more aggressive peel can take years off your appearance.  Peels work by removing (exfoliating) the outer portion of the skin revealing a youthful glow and combating other signs of aging like brown spots and fine lines.  

Chemical peels come in different levels from superficial to deep and what kind of peel you should get depends on what skin issue you are trying to treat.  I always recommend seeing an esthetician to get a peel as we are trained in both skin theory and skin conditions.  You are taking a big risk by trying to do a peel on your own as there are many variables and the outcome could be permanent damage.  As with most skincare, you will need a series of treatments to see a significant change - remember it took 20 years to create the damage, you cannot fix it in 1 hour!  You and your esthetician will set up a treatment plan and together you will work toward achieving your skin care goals.
