Entry #2 – What is a medi-spa?
Most of us are serious when it comes to our
beauty game, and if you are looking to up your game in your skin care treatments
then it’s time to go to a medi-spa. Some of you may be wondering though, what is a medi spa?
Medi-spas, offer advanced face and
body treatments unlike those offered by traditional spas. Medi-spas offer the expertise found at a
doctor’s office, in a spa setting. It
really is the best of both worlds.
The treatments can be life changing (um who doesn’t
want to look 10 years younger?) but if you are expecting a fufu facial like the
one you get at the Ritz, then you are in for a bit of shock! Medi-spa treatments use things like lasers,
needles, and chemicals to turn back the hands so time. I know this all sounds scary,
but it really isn’t. The arsenal of treatment
options is large, it doesn’t always feel good, but the results far outweigh the pain.
Some of the hottest treatments in medi-spas right now are:
Laser skin tightening
Botox and facial fillers
Laser hair reduction
Photo facials
Erin, thank you for informing me on Medi-Spas! I've recently been looking into laser hair removal, and have wanted to do it at a dermatologist to get the most effective results, but now that you have informed me on medi-spas, I may change my mind once I do more research on them! Have you done any treatments at a Medi-Spa before?
ReplyDeleteShamiran,
ReplyDeleteI used to own a med spa so yes I've had all my treatments in that setting. The most important thing is the qualification of the person doing the treatment. I am not a doctor (and you don't need to be to do laser hair removal) but I am an esthetician and a certified laser technician. I've been doing laser for 10 years, so I have done thousands of treatments. I would be happy to give you some recommendations of a place to go get treatments if your interested. I promise you it will change your life forever!!
Hi Erin! Thanks for the information! It's good to know about these types of treatments. I never heard about the photo facials. How are those types of facials?
